Joseph R. Baker, Sr., age 66, died Sunday, July 14th at his residence in Telford. He was formerly from North Wales.
Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Marie Baker.
Mr. Baker was a truck driver for area trucking companies.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in North Wales.
His beloved wife, the late LuAnne M. D’Orazio Baker, died April 11, 2008.
Joseph enjoyed Nascar racing and motorcycles.
Survivors include his son Joseph R. Baker, Jr and his fiancé Eleanor Detweiler of Quakertown and his daughter Lynne M. Baker of Davenport, FL. and 12 grandchildren. Also surviving are stepsons Frank D’Orazio and his wife Sandy of Hatfield and Louis Oechsner and his wife Kate of Roslyn; brother Bill Baker and his wife Sharon of Lansdale and sisters Mary Mangan and her husband Jim of Barton, FL. and Shawn Baker of Lansdale. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy McIntyre.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Thursday, July 18th at 1PM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main Street, Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Thursday from 11:30 to 12:45. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joe’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 125 South 9th St., Suite 202, Philadelphia, PA. 19107 would be preferred.
