  4. I worked with Dan as a sports reporter when he served as head football coach at Phoenixville. Unfortunately, it was for just the one year. But he obviously went on to bigger and better things. I also know many members of the Algeo family, sons and daughters and their children, as coaches and athletes. They are all class people whom I have had the privilege to know and work with for many years in local sports journalism.

    My condolences to all,

  6. Dear Algeo Family- Although my sons never had Coach Algeo as a coach, one of my sons had him for class, and both my sons thought he was a really good guy. Everyone thought the world of him,and what wonderful things were said about him! I am sure that you are very proud. How he treated his students, players and everyone he met teaches us all a lesson about life. He will be missed. We pray for your comfort and peace in knowing how loved he was. The Purpura Family

  9. Coach Algeo, what will O’Hara Football be without you. You will be missed even by parents like me who only spoke to you on few occasions yet were touched by your dedication and love for your players. Rest.

  10. Dear Algeo Family…we know you don’t need to hear it from us but Danny was one good man and a loyal friend. Your family was always admired by ours and it’s obvious how Faith, Family and Football permeated Danny’s life. Now he gets to bring that to heaven – where the best team ever assembled will now have Danny to show them how’s it done! Danny made our class of 83′ special as he did with everything he involved himself with. We will miss him dearly and will always be in out hearts, thoughts and prayers. We can only hope to be considered “good men” as Danny was. May God Bless your family always. Joe Wanner.

  12. Coach Algeo

I just want to thank you for being a great man!! It was an honor to get too know you and what you did for my son Da’Shaun Ballenger, a freshman football player who was in your program—even as we came to the conclusion as a family to transfer him closer to home. I can honestly say that was one of the hardest decisions my family made. Cardinal O’Hara is a wonderful school academically and family atmosphere. They will sorely miss a great man!! God bless you, Coach and your Family!! You and your family will always be in my family prayers and heart.

    God Bless

    Coach Ballenger
