Joan “Elaine” Kresge, age 77, of Lansdale died Sunday November 2, 2014 at Elm Terrace Gardens.

Born in Virginia and raised in Springfield, Delaware County, she was the daughter of the late James and Grace (McCafferty) Kerns.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William R. Kresge in November of 2010.  As a young woman she attended Springfield High School.

Mrs. Kresge has been a resident of Lansdale since 1962. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she sang in the choir for 20 years.  Mrs. Kresge was a member of the Red Hat Club and her hobbies included reading and gardening and she had a great affection for birds.

Surviving are her three loving daughters: Diane Kresge, Debra Klock and her husband Clifford of Nazareth, and Denise Kresge of Lansdale as well as her two grandchildren Jason Klock of Nazareth and Benjamin Klock of Philadelphia.  In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded by baby boy Glenn Kresge and baby girl Cheryl Kresge and brother Herbert Kerns.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, Nov. 6th at 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cem. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Assn., Suite 102, 399 Market Street, Phila, PA. 19106 or the American Heart Assn., 1617 JFK Blvd, Suite 700, Phila, PA. 19103 would be preferred.
