Although I never knew Mrs. Russo, I know she was a very special person and devoted mother and wife. Fr. Russo frequently celebrates the noon Mass at our church, Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge. Shortly after Mrs. Russo’s passing, a request for prayers for her and Fr. Russo and their family was made in the opening announcements for the daily Mass. That was a real tribute to Fr. Russo because we have never heard such an announcement at the opening of Mass before. I pray that she is safely in heaven and reunited with her loved ones who have passed before her. Thank you for sharing this beautiful obituary. We are grateful for the love she has passed on to Fr. Russo.
