Richard D. Johnson, age 84, of Exton passed away on December 29, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Coatesville.
Born in Philadelphia on September 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Shea Johnson.
Survivors include his sisters Mary Walters of Harleysville and Diane Caraccoli of Jacksonville, FL and his brothers Thomas Johnson and his wife Peggy of Tampa, FL. and George Johnson and his wife Kathleen of Ambler. He was preceded in death by sisters Josephine Dunn, Dilus Haas, Joan Fones and Margaret Johnson and brothers Edward B. Jr. and John H. Johnson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He attended Northeast Catholic High School and Dobbins Technical School.
Richard served for three years with the United States Marine Corps and saw combat during the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart along with other citations.
He was a loyal Eagles Football fan to the end.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Monday, January 5th at 11:30AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale where the family will receive friends Monday from 10:30 to 11:30AM. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
