Thomas J. McNally, age 93, of Lansdale died on February 15th at Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale where he has lived since 2016.

Born in W. Catasauqua, PA., he is the son of the late Patrick J. and Magdalen (nee. Herman) McNally.

Mr. McNally proudly served his country during WW2 in the US Army in the 8th Armored Division as a staff sergeant. He was part of Headquarters Company, Combat Command A and saw combat action in the Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe. He was awarded many decorations and citations including 3 Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal.

Mr. McNally graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School, Fordham University College of Business and Fordham University Law School.

He worked as an attorney at Labrum and Doak law firm in center city Philadelphia and as an attorney for Spencer, Sherr and Moses law firm in Norristown, retiring from the Philadelphia office of Transamerica Corp.

He was appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Milton Shapp in 1971 to the Valley Forge State Park Commission and served as Chairman of the Special Events Committee (later Bicentennial Committee). He continued as a member of the commission until the federalization of the park in 1977.

Mr. McNally was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale, including singing in the Church Choir and the Funeral Choir.

Mr. McNally is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ellen McGonigle McNally, his daughters Rosemary Brown and her husband Bud of Centennial, CO, Grace McNally of Washington, DC, his sons Matthew McNally of Lansdale and Timothy McNally and his wife Jessica of Stuart, FL, and 5 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Maureen P. McNally at age 6 and sisters Ann Oswald, Ellen McNally and Margaret Rogers and his brothers Jerome McNally and Lawrence McNally, both of whom also served in WW2.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 20th at 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 where the family will receive friends in Church Tuesday morning from 10 to 11AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery.
