Mary A. O’Hara—3/28/2018

Mary A. O’Hara, 64, of Lansdale and formerly of Clifton Heights passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  Born in Lansdale, Mary was the first daughter of the late Henry J. O’Hara, Sr. and late Madeleine T. (Howe) O’Hara.

Mary was a graduate of St. Stanislaus Elementary School, Lansdale Catholic High School and Gwynedd Mercy College, graduating with an Associates Degree in Nursing in 1973 and attaining her Bachelors Degree in 2006.  Mary was employed for 41 years as a Registered Nurse at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, PA.

Mary loved her dogs, Duncan, Moose and Malia. She loved to knit and crochet creating keepsake baby blankets for each new birth in her family and for friends. Mary also loved to travel enjoying trips to Hawaii, Spain, Bermuda and other locales.

Mary was a long time Phillies fan and her love of the game began in 1964. She enjoyed attending regular season games and playoff games including the World Series both in 1980 and 2008.

Mary was the beloved oldest sister to three brothers and three sisters, beloved aunt to eight nieces and five nephews, and beloved great aunt to five great nieces and one great nephew.  Mary is survived by her brother Robert (Christine) of Lansdale, sister Maureen Stover (Jeffrey) of Harleysville, brother Henry (Theresa) of Audubon, sister Sheila Sweeney (Edwin) of Wyomissing, brother John of Skippack and sister Denise of Lansdale.

A celebration of Mary’s life will occur on April 5, 2018.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Maria Goretti Church, Derstine and Cowpath Roads, Hatfield, at 11 am.  Visitation with the family will occur from 10:00 to 10:45 am right before the Mass.  Burial will occur after Mass at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Lansdale.

  1. I am sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. Mary was a kind, gentle person and dedicated care giver. She was one of my first mentor’s when I started working in the OR. Please accept my deepest sympathy and prayers at this diffucult time. May Mary forever feel the warmth of Our Lord’s Love.

  2. I’m grateful to have celebrated life experiences with my friend, Mary, in Hawaii and Spain, the Philly Flower Show and Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Pile Inn and Phillies games.
