Carlene Clugston peacefully departed this world on July 15, 2018. Born Carlene Evelyn Wilson on August 13, 1932 to Carl and Anna Wilson of Lansdale, Carlene attended Little Flower Elementary School and Notre Dame High School for Girls. She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 53 years, Bryan, in 2005, son Wayne in 2016 and granddaughter Jessica Clugston in 1980. She is survived by daughter Dianne Shortall (Thomas), son Bryan Jr. (Kathleen), daughter Laurie Sobel and son Patrick and many nieces and nephews. Known as Manu, she was the loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 13.
Her family and her faith were Carlene’s cornerstones. She worked at St. Stanislaus’ weekly bingo games for well over 30 years. After many years of dedicated service, she retired from Teleflex Aerospace. An avid reader, Carlene amassed a collection of Irish history and fiction that reached over 500 volumes. She visited Ireland several times and often enjoyed a nice pint of Guinness.
A celebration of Carlene’s life will be held Thursday, July 19 at St. Stanislaus Church, where she was a lifelong congregant. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 A.M. A funeral mass will follow at 11 A.M.
The sun has yet to shine on a stronger person.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Abington Hospice at Warminster. Thank you, the Clugston Family
