Joan Keyser–8/15/2018

Joan Margaret (Simes) Keyser, affectionately known as Peggy, was called home by our Lord on Wednesday August 15, 2018after a courageous battle with cancer.

Peggy lit up every room she walked into.  Her smile was beautiful and her laugh contagious.

She was an avid Eagles fan and watched them win the Superbowl with her family.  She loved birdwatching, reading, studying the Bible, music, dancing, traveling and eating out.  Her greatest joy and love was her family and spending time with them.

Peggy was a 1968 graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School and was the owner/operator of the Clip Joint, Lansdale, for many years. She was employed by Green Tweed Co. where she worked up until May 2018. Peggy was a member of the American Legion Post 234 Ladies Auxillary and a lifetime member of the Cannoneers Sportsman Club.

She was the beloved daughter of Joan M. (Gilbert) Simes of North Wales and the late Howard Simes, Sr.  She was born August 29, 1950 and would have celebrated her 68thbirthday this month.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Swartz) Cipriano and son in law David of Perkasie with whom she lived during her illness. Her son, Jarrett Swartz. Her grandchildren, Chelsea Lopardo and her husband Alec of Lansdale, Emma Wright of Pottstown, Daniel Wright of Perkasie and Devon Densmore of Souderton.  Her brothers and sisters in law, Gordon and Marlene Simes, of North Wales, Howard Jr. and Sue Simes of Telford, Jerry and the late Trudy Ivanowicz of Hatfield. Her sister in law and brother in law, Dawn and the late Sam Smith. Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Keyser.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Peggy’s Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday August 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am in church prior to mass. Interment immediately following in the Chapel Rose Garden section of Whitemarsh Memorial Park.

The family welcomes flowers or memorial donations to The Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org). Or simply take someone you love to a festival, concert or a day at the beach and think of Peggy.

  1. Sending my deepest sympathies to Peggy’s family. She was a tireless co-worker and I will remember her especially whenever I visit Melrose Diner which she raved about.

  2. So sorry Jennifer for the kids if your beloved mother. Her suffering is over and she is at peace. Cherish all the memories you have made with her. She had gained her wings and now becomes your Guardian Angel. At you find comfort in God’s everlasting lasting love to get you through this most difficult time.
