John L. Marcolina—8/26/2018

John L. Marcolina, age 89, of Lansdale died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Abington Hospice at Warminster.

Born on November 18, 1928 in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Sante and Margherita (nee. Pellarin) Marcolina. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen Joan (nee Waldron) Marcolina, whom he married in Harrisburg on November 14, 1953.

As a younger man he attended Germantown High School. He served his country honorably during the Korean War with the United States Army.

Mr. Marcolina worked as an Estimator in the Flooring Industry retiring in 1990 as Vice-President of Estimating with the Philadelphia company Drehmann Paving and Flooring.  Upon moving to Upper Gwynedd in 1968 he served on the Upper Gwynedd Planning Commission.

In his free time he enjoyed, hunting, fishing, gardening, playing golf, and playing cards.  He was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Surviving are his loving children: Valerie Kline (Joseph) of Delaware County, Joan Strouse of Lansdale and Jacqueline Grzywacz of Harleysville, grandchildren: Andrea, Joseph and Christopher Kline, Greg Strouse and, Erica and Ryan Grzywacz: great-grandchildren Emily and Benjamin Kline as well as sisters Lydia Mulvihill of Walnut Creek, CA and Vilma Fabbro of Wayne, New Jersey,  and dear friend Shirley Elnitski of Lansdale.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 31, at 11 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in Church prior to Mass. Interment St. John Neumann.
