Tom B. Hammer, age 88, a longtime resident of Lansdale passed away Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019 at Abington Hospital Main Campus. He was the beloved husband of 62 years of Donna (nee. Gross) Hammer. Born in New York City, New York he was the son of the late George and Anna (nee. Nenninger) Hammer.
Mr. Hammer worked for Bell Telephone for 30 years as a Phone Systems Installation Technician. He served his country honorably and bravely during The Korean War with The United States Army and was discharged honorably holding the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Lansdale.
Tom and Donna maintained a home on Walnut Street for over 60 years in which Donna still resides. They enjoyed many trips to Cape May and Wildwood NJ all throughout the year as there place to get away and relax. Tom was a very private person and few got to know him as family did and he will be forever missed.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four loving children; Helen L. Wilde (George) of Colmar, Michael T. Hammer (Diane) of Birdsboro, Catherine A. Greth (Michael) of Lansdale and Timothy T. Hammer of Spring Mount and grandchildren; Jason, Thomas, Brandon, Ryan, Brittany, Sierra and Jacob as well as Great Grandson David.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM in church prior to Mass. Interment private. (In lieu of Flowers Donna would request that donations be made to the St Stanislaus Food Cupboard).

I’m sorry to learn of your father’s passing to Life Eternal. I understand that this is a difficult and sad time for you. However, joy will return when you remember the wonderful times with your dad. I will hold you in my prayers.
