Charlotte’s life
It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Charlotte (Strysko) Clarkson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. In this time of sadness however, our souls rejoice as we know she will no longer suffer, and she will see those whom she has missed so much on this earth.
Charlotte passed into the arms of the Lord Friday evening comforted in her last hours by family.
Charlotte, whose favorite nickname was Rusty, – for her beautiful Auburn hair, was born near Montague Massachusetts. At an early age, Rusty left the small town and decided to seek her own path in life.
That path eventually led to Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she met the love of her life Joseph Clarkson at a USO function. They eventually married and found their way to Upper Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, where they raised a family of 5 boys.
Charlotte took care of her children at home and eventually working part time at the local YMCA before becoming an executive secretary at the former Leeds and Northrup in North Wales. She had a wonderful and rewarding career before retiring and enjoying the fruits of her labor.
Rusty sometimes traveled with Joe during his business trips throughout the West Coast and Northern Mexico. During one of these trips they had the good fortune to visit Hawaii. Maui became their favorite destination for the rest of their lives. Taking trips as often as they could go until both were in their 80’s. They also had a wonderful time in Italy while visiting with their son Greg who was stationed there at the time.
Besides travel, Charlotte was often gazing skyward trudging outside early in the morning to witness Halley’s Comet, numerous meteor showers, and shuttle flybys with her youngest son Patrick.
In her final years she resided in The Lutheran Home at Telford where she and her son Kevin would often share a fast food treat together.
Charlotte especially loved spending time with her family, always taking time to listen and comfort them though their travails in life. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her three sons, Gregory, Lieutenant Commander, United States Navy (Retired), and his wife Susan of Highlands, NC, Kevin of Freehold NJ and Patrick and his wife Cynthia of Sellersville, PA. Charlotte has four grandchildren, Holly, Alexis, Jonathan, and Nikki; three great grandsons, Jackson, Benjamin and Matthew; and along with three great grand daughters, Samhradh, Emily and Lana.
Sadly two of her sons, John and Joseph Jr., preceded her in death along with her husband Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11 AM at St Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446, preceded by a time to celebrate her life from 10 to 11 AM in Church prior to Mass.
