James R. Polito, age 73, a lifelong resident of Lansdale died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington.  He had been in failing health.

Born in Lansdale he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (nee. Aufiere) Polito.

Mr. Polito was a graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School.  He was a longtime employee of Merck Pharmaceuticals.  James served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Surviving are 4 loving sisters; Betty Lou Polito of Hatfield, Rita M. Mellinger of Lansdale, Rosalie Lepo (Joseph) of Eagleville  and Jane Ciccocelli (Anthony) of North Wales and 1 loving brother John Polito of Lansdale as well as many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 1 PM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St, Lansdale and his Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 (across from Funeral Home).  The Interment will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Prospectville.

In lieu of Flowers Memorial contributions in James’s name may be sent to St. Stanislaus Parish at the address above.
