William R. Bridgen–2/22/2019

William R. Bridgen, age 88, of Ambler died Friday evening, February 22, 2019 at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale.  He had been in failing health.

Born in Mahanoy City, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen and Lillian (nee. Graeff) Bridgen.

He attended Mahanoy City High School, graduating with the class of 1949.

Bill served his country Honorably as a Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW in Mahanoy City.

Bill worked for Pars Manufacturing Company in Ambler for 33 years.  In his free time he enjoyed wood working and was a past president of the Delaware Valley Wood Carvers.

Bill was an avid ballroom dancer and enjoyed going to the Casino.

Throughout his life he was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sister Jacqueline and her husband Bruce of Missouri as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Sadly he was preceded in death by his son Gregory Bridgen, his first wife Jean (nee. McGregor) Bridgen and his second wife Mary (née. Bonanni) Bridgen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:00 PM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pk., Lansdale, where the family will receive friends in the Church Narthex from 9:30 till 9:50 AM prior to Mass. Interment will take place in St. Jerome’s Cemetery in Tamaqua, PA.
