Mary Louise (nee McDevitt) Burgoyne, 82, of Blue Bell, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 after a brief illness.

She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in 1954 and Chestnut Hill Hospital School of Nursing in September of 1957. Once a nurse, always a nurse. She was very proud of her nursing degree and used it often to care for family through many illnesses.
Mary Lou was a smart, independent, dignified woman with a strong moral compass who had an opinion on how to do everything “right.” Yet she was compassionate and nonjudgmental and welcomed all people into her life. She loved to learn, was a great listener, and had a funny comment to add to any story.
She was the extremely proud “Gigi” to nine grandchildren: Michael, Zachary, Seamus, Liam, Elizabeth, Natalie, Lucas, Jule and Charles. She had a deep love for all animals that she passed on to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, decorating, playing bridge, photography, gourmet club, traveling, and entertaining family and friends in Sea Isle City, NJ and Naples, FL.
The family would like to thank all of the caring medical staff at Doylestown Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Meadowood Senior Living, and Abramson Hospice.
