Jerry La Rosa, age 85, a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia died Sunday, March 31, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (nee. Rossini) La Rosa who died in 2011.
Born on October 6, 1933 in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (nee. Melchiode) La Rosa.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. La Rosa served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He later became a Philadelphia Policeman and then subsequently became a United States Federal Marshal. Mr. La Rosa was a lifelong History Buff and loved to visit museums and significant sites with his family. He was also an avid Philadelphia Sports Fan.
Surviving are his loving daughter Christine Cuccurullo and her husband Vince, granddaughter Larissa Bergin and brother John La Rosa. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his beloved son Jerry La Rosa, Jr, who died in June of 2017 and his brother Steve La Rosa.
