Cornelius Andrew Cunningham–4/30/2019

Cornelius Andrew Cunningham “Connie”, age 78, of Holland, PA died April 30, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Antoinette (nee. Neri) Cunningham in 2009.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Ruth (nee. Clark) and Frank Cunningham.

Mr. Cunningham attended LaSalle College High School graduating in 1958.  He was a member of the 1957 City Championship Football team and the 1958 Championship Crew team. Later he went on to attend LaSalle College graduating in 1966.  He proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1962 – 1964 attaining the rank of E5.

Mr. Cunningham worked for Purolator, Inc., and was promoted to District Manager in 1974 in Harrisburg and then Regional Manager in 1976 which brought him to Pittsburgh. From 1980 to 1993 he owned and operated a Maaco Auto Body and Paint Shop in Bristol, PA. He retired as an Insurance Adjuster with Allstate.

During his life he also lived in Mt. Airy, Churchville, Camp Hill, Allison Park and Holland, PA. He loved playing golf and was an excellent bowler.  Mr. Cunningham followed all the Philadelphia College and Pro Sports teams especially the Phillies as he was the grandson of the Hall of Fame Owner/Manager Cornelius McGillicuddy “Connie Mack”.  He coached his sons in Little League Baseball from 1977 – 1979 while he lived in Pittsburgh.  Other hobbies included reading History and True Crime Books.

Surviving are his loving sons Cornelius J. and Thomas J. (Jill) Cunningham, granddaughters Mia and Ariel Cunningham, as well as siblings Frank, III and Bill Cunningham, Kathy Kiem and Alice Cunningham.

Funeral arrangements are private at the request of the family and will take place at St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland PA on Wednesday, May 8, at 11 AM.

  1. Connie, Bill and Frank, all, very funny men, who loved to laugh and make other people laugh. Heaven is in for some funny, funny times. Cunningham’s that were our Pride and Joy.
