Nancy Weigner, age 89, a lifelong resident of Lansdale died November 25 at Pennsburg Manor in Pennsburg. She had been in failing health. Born in Lansdale, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Franze and Flora R (Fanelli) Franze.
She was a homemaker who cherished spending time with her family. She always made those times very special. She served as President of the Residents association at Walnut Meadows where she resided. Nancy was well known for her custom wedding cakes and her specialty Italian rum cakes which were made out of her kitchen.
She was a devoted member of both St Stanislaus catholic church and Corpus Christi catholic church in her later years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard and brother Joseph Franze. She is survived by a sister, Marie Marino of Harleysville, as well as three loving children; 2 sons, John W Weigner, and wife Concetta of Lansdale, and Michael J Weigner and his wife, Laurie of Tampa, Florida. 1 daughter Peggy J. McDermott and her husband Eugene of Livermore California, 5 grandchildren; John (Megan), Sean (Ilona), Kelly, Gabriella and Alexa, 2 great grandchildren Kayla and Tyler; step-grandchildren, David Walton (Mary) and Stephen Walton and step-great grandchildren Malia and Alexa.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at St Stanislaus church, 51 Lansdale ave, Lansdale Pa 19446, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM that morning before Mass. Interment St Stanislaus cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave, 16thFloor, New York, NY 10001. Contributions can be made on line as well.
