On her last day, Angie was able to and happy to declare her love for family and friends. Grateful for those precious moments, we were at peace because she was. She passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Wednesday, December 11. Angie, at the age of 92, was anticipating her joyous reunion with her beloved husband, Anthony S. Caracausa, Tony.
Born in Norristown, PA, on November 3, 1927, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (née Tuturice) Caparo, and sister of Harry, Joseph, Francis, and Lillian. They were quite a group: happy, rambunctious, loyal and loving. Her siblings preceded her in death. She sorely missed each one, and their wives and husband: Ann Caparo, Theresa Caparo, and John Piacitelli. Angela is survived by her dear sister-in-law, Lucy Caparo who is Joe’s beloved wife.
Married in 1948 to Anthony S. Caracausa, Angela’s life expanded and filled with wonderful endeavors. A Lansdale native, Tony made Angie one too. They had 3 children who were the focus of their lives. She and her husband had a corner grocery store in the 1950s and early 60s and then a delicatessen in Lansdale. They remodeled the old Music Hall building on Broad Street in Lansdale. They belonged to St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church. Angie and Tony were members of the Christian Family Movement (CFM) at the church. She volunteered at Abington Lansdale Hospital and for the church at the parish center.
Known for her kindness and care, she was a beloved neighbor wherever she resided. Angie moved to Brittany Pointe Estates four years ago. She enjoyed her time there: making new friends, enjoying the music programs on Mondays, Culinary Nights, dinner with the girls on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays and volunteering for the Craft Shows.
Angela is survived by her children: Diane Caracausa, David Caracausa and his wife Karen, and Anthony Caracausa and his wife Krista, and six grandchildren: Mark Caracausa, Bradley Caracausa, Alyssa and her husband Silas Gossman, Kaylyn and her husband Drew Lewis, Tyler Caracausa, and Corinne Caracausa; and four great-grandchildren: Andrew M. Caracausa, Delaney J. O’Hara, Archer C. Gossman and Annora M. Gossman. All treasures in her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 in Church prior to Mass. Interment will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Angela’s name to St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446. Angela’s family asks family and friends to share their memories of Angela at the luncheon immediately following interment.
