Joseph S. Naumowicz–1/19/20

Joseph S. Naumowicz, age 76, a long-time resident of Norristown before moving to Lansdale four years ago, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, January 19 with family by his side after a long battle with cancer.

Born February 23, 1943, in Philadelphia, he was the son of Leonard A. Naumowicz and Mary (Siek) Naumowicz.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia where he attended Our Lady of the Holy Souls grade school, Roman Catholic High School, and LaSalle College.

Joe proudly served in the Army and worked as a HVAC Commercial Designer and Estimator until retirement.

Joe enjoyed serving on St Paul’s Parish Council and helping with the finances for their annual carnival each year when his children were younger. Joe enjoyed fishing, photography, computer programming, wood working, trains, playing scrabble and many family trips to Disney World!

Joe is survived by three children, Ann Marie (Tim) Willans of Lower Gwynedd, Jeanne (Daniel) Williamson of Lansdale, and Laura Naumowicz along with 10 grandchildren whom Joe absolutely cherished: Keenan, Logan, Hanna, Kyle, Christina, Kelly, Avery, Jocelyn, Ray and Sam.

Joe is preceded in death by his son, Joseph J. Naumowicz and brother, Leonard R. Naumowicz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from Noon-2pm on Saturday, January 25 at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA, with a liturgy service at the funeral home beginning at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mater Dei Catholic School, 493 East Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446 (www.materdeicatholic.com).  Mater Dei Catholic School held a very special place in Joe’s heart as he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s many school events, liturgies, plays and Veterans Day celebrations.

  1. My heart is full of loving, happy memories shared with you which I will always cherish. I loved you then; I love you now; and I will love you every tomorrow. Rosie

  2. We met as neighbors and became lifelong friends.Even though we we separated by a considerable distance we communicate regularly and provided each other with a sounding board and moral support. I will miss him dearly

  3. Praying for your family during this time of loss, Papa Joe was a man of great integrity and quick wit, he always willing to help someone in need, he courageously helped me through one of the hardest times in my life, while it also was the hardest in his own. Love to you all
