Elizabeth McDonald–3/6/2020

Elizabeth “Betty” McDonald, 86, a longtime resident of North Wales, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late Leo J. McDonald who passed away in 1967, and mother of the late Michael L. McDonald who passed away in 1999.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy (Tom) Miller of Palmyra, PA, Eileen (Dave) Erkes of North Wales, PA, Joann (Dave) Vogeli of Boulder, CO and Daughter in Law Karen McDonald of Hatfield, PA: brothers Robert (Ellen) and Francis (Beverly, and the late Patricia Paulukonis (John), William (Buddy) and infant brother Fred. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was Nana to Lauren, Megan, Garrett, Brian, Corrinne, and Leo and Great Grandmother to Kinsley and Callie.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Peoples. She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1951. After marrying the love of her life in 1959, she moved to North Wales, where she raised her family and became a longstanding member of St. Stanislaus Church.

Betty was a simple, gracious and humble woman. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Stans and Lansdale Catholic. Through the years she also enjoyed dancing, bowling, going to Flyers’ games, jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, playing cards, going to Seniors group at St. Stans and watching As the World Turns and the old game shows. She will forever be remembered as being a kind, caring and generous mother, grandmother and friend.

Per her desire, no flowers please. Contributions to Gift of Life would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Betty sat at my table at our Senior Club at Stans. She was always there. She enjoyed playing Bingo and she always talk about her family. She will be missed by many.

  2. Your mother sounds like a wonderful person. I feel the pain of a loss. Losing your mother is one of the worst griefs a person can experience. Especially for a daughter ❤️ My thoughts and prayers go out out to you and your family
