Gail Dancer–3/9/2020

Gail E. Dancer of North Wales, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9th at Arden Courts in Hatboro, Pa., after a long illness. She was 62 years old.

Gail was born July 24th, 1957, to the late Robert Ashenfelter and Alice (Bevan) Ashenfelter and was raised in Doylestown, Pa. She was married to Thomas R. Dancer on April 27th, 1990, and they resided in North Wales, Pa. for over 25 years.

Gail had a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters degree in Finance from Temple University. She worked as a financial analyst for FMC Corporation for 26 years.

Gail loved to travel and started a travel business in her free time. She managed the business until she could no longer work. Her love of adventure and new experiences took her and those she loved with her around the world from Yosemite to Tahiti, the Galapagos, Thailand and more.

Gail was well known for her love of animals and she regularly volunteered for the Ark Foundation caring for orphaned birds, squirrels, raccoons, and more so they could be released into their natural habitat. By far, her best animal friend was her dog, RD, a rescue that she convinced her husband to accept into the family.

Gail had an immense love for all of her family, whether traveling to Germany to visit her nephew, doting on her nieces, or simply playing with her grandchildren. Gail is survived by her mother, Alice Ashenfelter, her loving husband Thomas R. Dancer, her siblings Curt Ashenfelter (Sandy) and Jill Burnett (Tad), nieces Morgan Minogue (Darragh), Lauren Burnett, Elise Burnett and nephew Eric Ashenfelter (Nik) along with loving stepchildren Thom G. Dancer PhD (Marshelle), Kristen Foering, MD, (Mike), Michael Dancer and grandchildren William & Benjamin Foering.

Family and friends are welcome to attend her Funeral Mass on Monday, March 16th at 12 pm at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA 19454, where the family will receive friends from 10 AM – 11:45 AM in the Narthex. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gail Dancer’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org

  1. So sorry to hear of Gail’s passing, she was a sweet lady. I spent much time at Arden Courts with my mother Florence Mitchell before her passing in 2017. Always enjoyed sitting at the table with Mom and Gail during meals. Gail was always pleasant and smiling. She is at peace now. Tom, sorry for your loss, you always took such good care of Gail, always there at every special occasion and function at Arden.. Your were a great husband

  2. Tommy my heart is saddened to heard this tonight! This night You and Gail will be in my prayers along with memories of early years with the Dancer/Posner clan. RIP Gail.

  3. Gail has been a great and loyal friend since I first met her in eighth grade. She was fun-loving, very witty (which I believe she got from her mother!), athletic, so adventurous, and very kind and nurturing to many wild animals. And what a smart and beautiful person she was, both inside and out. I have no doubt that she is now with God and her predeceased loved ones, in heaven, for eternity, back with her sharp mind, healthy body, and loving ways. She will be watching over her beloved family and friends. Thank you, Gail, for being in my life…until we meet again. All my love.-Carol

  4. I haven’t seen or talked to Gail in ages, but we were next door neighbors during our childhood. I have so many fond memories of growing up with Gail. My heart and prayers go out to all her family and friends.

  5. My heart goes out to Tom and his family. I have known Gail and Tom for many years and I it breaks my heart to see the passing of such a kind soul. We remember her smile, pleasant conversations, and cocktails at the many Cedarbrook functions we attended in our younger days. She will be sorely missed.
