Kathleen Maria (Campbell) Leahy passed away peacefully on September 21, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family. She has joined her husband and soulmate John Joseph “Jack” Leahy, who predeceased her in 1998.Kathleen was the daughter of the late John Campbell and Winifred (Byrne) Campbell. She enjoyed her younger years spending time with her siblings (all now deceased) — sisters Francis, Winifred, and Peggy and her brother John (Buddy) as well as her wonderful Memom (grandmom Byrne). After the passing of both her grandmother and her mother, Kathleen lived with her beloved Aunt Eleanor, Uncle Bill, and Cousin Eleanor Eagan.
Kathleen was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School where she played the French horn in the marching band and the orchestra. She loved spending summers at the Jersey shore where she would eventually meet a handsome lifeguard, Jack Leahy, who was to become her loving husband of 46 years.
Jack and Kathleen maintained a long-distance relationship while Jack served overseas in the Army. They married on October 25, 1952, and eventually settled in Gwynedd Valley where they raised 5 loving children and a wonderful menagerie of pets, including horses, ponies, dogs and cats.
Kathleen was employed as a bookkeeper at several local businesses including Moore Products in Springhouse and the Ambler YMCA. In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing, bird watching, poetry, music, and all things IRISH!!! But her true passion was her family. She hosted many memorable holiday dinners, and she and Jack provided wonderful Christmases, vacations, and educations for their children.
In later years, Kathleen took much delight in her 6 grandchildren, so much so that she and Jack decided to provide daycare and after school care for the grandkids along with those of a few special friends. Their grandchildren have so many special memories of their time spent at MomMom’s and PopPops’ house with cousins and friends.
Kathleen was also proud of her Irish Catholic heritage and always looked forward to celebrating St Patrick ’s Day with friends and family. She was a member of St Rose of Lima parish in North Wales, Pa, for more than 50 years. She was a natural musician and playing the piano brought her (and others) joy throughout her life including her final months.
Kathleen is survived by her five children Kathy, Terry, Jackie, Patty, and John, her two sons-in-law Tom Wohlsen and John Vernon, her six grandchildren Katie Vernon, Justin Coscia, Rachael Ocelus, Laura Vernon, Megan Wohlsen, and John Vernon, a great granddaughter Molly Kathleen McCloughan, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind and comforting outpouring of sympathy.
Because of concerns about the pandemic, a private family service will be held followed by burial at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Jack.
A life celebration for Kathleen will be planned for 2021.

Mom Mom was so special to our family. She and Jack made our children feel like their own grandchildren. We were so fortunate to have both of them as another set of grandparents for our children and to know their wonderful family! Love to all of them!
You and your family had a special place in Mom Mom’s heart. Thanks for keeping in touch with her all of these years.
Aunt kassie was such a sweet, loving woman who was always very kind to me. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Aunt Kassie loved you and your family. Thanks for sending her your cards and birthday flowers over the years. She really enjoyed them.
