Charles D. DiGennaro, of Ambler, Pa., entered into rest Saturday, November 28, 2020. Charles ‘Charlie’ D. DiGennaro, 87, devoted dad to Alicia DiGennaro of New York City and her partner, Joseph Lee.
Family members in addition to his daughter include: sister, Rita Eckert of Augusta, GA; niece Carol Strawn (Bob) of Fitzgerald, GA; nephew John Eckert of Augusta, GA; great-niece Christy Reach and her family of Woodstock, GA; mother to Alicia, Teresa Rush; stepdaughter Tracy (nee Vandervalk) Anderson (William, and sons Sam, Jack) of Greensboro, NC; cousin Regina (nee Marucci) Meehan (John, and daughter Donna Vasquez and family) of Hatfield; cousin Dominic Marucci (Marie) of Roxborough; cousin Rose Marucci, and godson Michael Marucci of Roxborough; and 4 additional cousins. He was preceded in death by cousin Silvio ‘Sal’ Marucci, and parents Lena (nee Michetti) and Orlando DiGennaro.
Mr. DiGennaro was born on October 30, 1933, in Philadelphia and raised there with his older sister, Rita, by parents Lena and Orlando DiGennaro. He graduated from Germantown High School and took classes at Drexel University. He had aspirations of becoming a police officer before contracting Polio at age 20. He went on to have a career as a draftsman at various local technology companies including Sperry Univac (Unisys) and Kulicke and Soffa. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan especially the Phillies and enjoyed spending time with his daughter. His daughter would like to thank the staff of Artman Lutheran Home for caring for him for ten years.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Titus Catholic Church in East Norriton, PA. Receiving of friends and family will take place at 10:30 AM immediately preceding the service. Arrangements provided by SIMCOX-McILVAINE Funeral Home of Lansdale, PA.

Charlie was a wonderful man: caring, kind and considerate. He was a great brother-in-law and an outstanding father.
Our condolences to all family and friends. We all miss him dearly.

Charlie was the BEST…great mind he was smart, quick wit and He had a great sense of humor…always a fun guy…we have lots of silly stories to hold dear to our hearts…didn’t see him much in the past years but thought of him often…he’s Best accomplishment was his terrific daughter…rest in peace Charlie.
