John P. Vince was called home to our Lord In the early morning hours of December 19, 2020. John died at home in Lansdale where he had been a resident since 1962. He was 88 years old.

John was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on September 19,1932, to Elizabeth (Onder) Vince and Paul Vince. He had a single sibling, his older brother Michael. John went to college at University of Toronto where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. After college, John worked at Westinghouse in Canada, married Helen (Vag) Vince and had his first child, Lawrence Daniel.

In 1957, John and his young family moved to Willow Grove, PA. There John and Helen had 2 daughters, Jane Frances and Catharine Marie. While in Willow Grove, John took a position at Honeywell where he ended up spending most of his career. In 1962, John and his family moved to Lansdale where he lived with his wife Helen until his death.

During his career, John earned a MSc in Engineering Science from Penn State – Ogontz. Even in retirement, John enjoyed learning new technologies and took online courses in C, Excel, Visual Basic, and programmable logic design. Woodworking was another hobby he enjoyed.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen; his children Lawrence Vince, who still resides in Lansdale; Jane (Joseph) Mintzer of Gilbert AZ; and Catharine (William) Graham of Ogden UT.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Greg and Robert (Regina) Vince; Jennifer Mintzer, Theresa (Collin) Coatney, Joseph 3 (Angela) Mintzer, and Thomas Mintzer; William, Sarah, James, and Wendy Graham. Additionally, John is survived by 8 greatgrandchildren; Ignatius, Eleanore, and Augustine Vince; Arianna Morrissey and Jade Mintzer; and Chace and Liam Coatney.

John was predeceased by his parents, his brother and his brother’s wife, Dorothy, his sister-in-law Anne and her husband, John Rohal, and his daughter-in-law, Linda Vince.

John’s Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass beginning at 9:30 AM.
