Dorothy (Dottie) Rhoads—1/12/2021

Dorothy (Dottie) M. Rhoads (née Wyatt) age 99, died of natural causes on January 12, 2021 in Meadowood Senior Living.

Dottie was born June 13, 1921 in Philadelphia and moved from the big city to a 25 acre farm in Elroy, Pa. at the age of 3. She went to school in a one-room country school house with her 5 siblings. 

In 1939, Dottie graduated from Lansdale High School and in September 1943 married Walter Rhoads, a foreman at Hunter Spring of Lansdale. The couple had three children.

For over 30 years, Dorothy was active in various administrative capacities in St. Stanislaus Parish in Lansdale, Pa. She was also actively involved in the operation of Lukens and Rhoads, a floral center on Route 202 in North Wales, which later became The Rhoads Garden.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, James Wyatt, her daughter Sallie Lott , (Donald), her son Walter Thomas (Tom) Rhoads (Tara) and son James David (Dave) Rhoads ( Peggy) and nephew, James Wyatt Jr. (Bonnie) plus 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband who died in 1992.

Dottie loved to travel, to play pinochle, to dance, and to party. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Dottie’s Funeral Mass on, Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends after 9:30 AM, in Church Prior to Mass.

All Covid-19 protocols will be followed. Please wear a mask and social distance.
