Catherine (Kitty) Vizzard, age 92, of Lansdale went to our Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021. She had a stroke on Thursday evening which allowed her family to say their last good-byes and to receive the Last Rites.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in South Philadelphia by her Grandmother, Catherine (Katie) Haggerty, and her Aunts—Florrie Frank, Betsy Batson, and Irene Sharkey. She was the daughter of the late Roger and Margaret (nee Suddith) Haggerty.
Surviving are her children, Maureen Fabick (Ed), Kathleen Reilly (Charlie), Maggie Vizzard, Jim Vizzard (Marie) and, Patrick Vizzard (Gina). Her Grandchildren, Ed Fabick (DiDi), Elizabeth Fabick, Eric Fickes (LeeAnn), Kila Baldwin (Bill), Amanda Gonzalez (Jose Pierre), Tommy Vizzard, James Vizzard (Carissa), Thomas Vizzard, Catherine Vizzard, Patrick Vizzard, Daniel Vizzard (Fiance Emily) and, Sean Vizzard. A friend recently said of Mom, “She was such a wonderful, wonderful, great lady”…and that she was! She loved being around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved children and had a special gift of making them feel very special. Mom was involved in Girl Scouts, the Altar and Rosary Society, Fresh Air Children, a Volunteer Receptionist at St. Stanislaus Parish Center, the International Student Program and, the Mental Health Social Work Organization in Norristown, PA. Throughout her life she took in and cared for her Cousin Johnny, Aunt Catherine, Aunt Florrie and the homeless needing food, shelter, or just a shower.
St. Paul best sums up Mom in 2 Timothy 4: 5-7. “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousness judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

My prayers to Kitty’s family. I remember what a joy it was to work with her when she was a volunteer at St Stans. She brightened up the place and was a real woman of prayer.
You looked at each of us and made us feel that we were important to you. You also made it look easy; I will always remember you and your enthusiastic and welcoming ways, your smile and happy or sometimes concerned voice. I’ll try to be the same toward others and carry your lessons forward. Rest in peace Aunt Kitty. We will miss you! Love Meg and Mike Fynan
We lost a wonderful and wise woman.
How blessed were all of you to have had such wonderful Mother. She always made me feel special. She fulfilled her purpose in life being charitable. She fed the hungry & help cloth the poor. She completed the “Great Commission”. Just so all of you know, I always
admired the Vizzard family, all of you turned out so well. Our sympathy to all of the family.
My condolences to the Vizzard families. Mrs. Vizzard was always so kind. May she rest in peace and may happy memories see you through this difficult time.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with Mrs. Vizzard before her passing, thanks to Maggie, lunches and Sunday drive. I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent together. My prayers and thoughts to the family .
Special love to Maggie, Cathleen and Maureen. Mac McEntee🙏🏻
I was truly blessed to have met Mrs. Vizzard through Girl Scouts. She was such a sweet lady and we had some really fun times with her and the other moms. Thanks for sharing her with us.
I was lucky enough to get to know Mrs. Vizzard while I was going through Cadettes and Senior Girl Scouts. Mrs. Vizzard was truly a wonderful woman. Thanks for sharing her with us!
Sending my loving Thoughts and Prayers to the bereaved family. May Ms Kitty Rest In Peace and may you all be comforted.
It’s hard to put into words what Mrs. VIzzard meant in my life…early on as my Girl Scout Leader, the love and concern she gave me,.. so many adventures and lessons learned, inspiring us to be the very best and always teaching us to give back….she is an incredible loss to me and to so many that looked on her as our other “Mom”. Through the years, she never lost her “spunk”, her wonderful humor and her big hugs….rest in peace “Mom”….I will miss you but know you are with the Lord, where you always aspired to be.
We had an opportunity to meet grandmom several years ago for Lansdale bike night. She offered food and drink and best of all, a parking spot for our motorcycles, since we couldn’t find a spot anywhere. She accepted everyone, never judged. Just an amazing, loving, caring special person. God Bless you sweet angel.
Mrs. Vizzard was a lovely woman who I am honored to have known. My deepest sympathy to Maggie and her family.
