Patricia Hunt Thomas, 88, of Abington and North Wales, Pa., passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2021. She was the daughter of John and Anne ( Brillo ) Hunt and is predeceased by her husband, William E. Thomas.
Pat was quiet, kind and unassuming, but strong and unflinching in confronting life’s challenges, particularly the many illnesses she endured in her last years.
She enjoyed reading, especially mysteries, and doing crossword puzzles — always in ink, never pencil. She relished long conversations about history, politics and everyday life with her family.
She was born in Germantown, Pa., graduated Little Flower High School in 1949, and obtained an associate degree from Drexel University.
After raising her children, she began working at Industrial Valley Bank and spent the remainder of her professional career in banking, retiring from Wachovia Bank in 1997.
Pat will be missed by her children, Patricia Savage and her husband Brian, Monica McManus and her husband Christopher, and William and his partner Michael Barbello. She was a beloved Granny to Megan, Clare, Thomas and Kate. She is also survived by her brother John and his wife Rosemarie and her sister, Mary.
Due to the pandemic, services for Patricia will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to Little Flower High School, Phila, PA.
Tricia, Monica, and Bill,
My sincerest condolences to you and the rest of the family. So many memories of your mom and the house on Eckard. I can only imagine her thoughts on the shenanigans we thought we got away with 🙂 I will always remember sitting in the living room or standing in the kitchen chatting with her. Sending love & hugs to you all
Joe
