He was a World War II veteran and a proud supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
He worked in the Worker’s Compensation Insurance industry, first for the Pennsylvania State Workmen’s Insurance Fund in Pittsburgh where he was Western Regional Supervisor, and then for Argonaut Insurance Company where he was Director of Account Services Unit, Claims Management Department. It was while he was working for Argonaut Insurance Company that he was transferred to their Philadelphia office in 1986, and moved to Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his children, Linda Moter, Donna Rankin, Barbara Wind, and Brenda Rankin and her partner Pat Seddon; grandson, Makila Wind, and great-granddaughter, Emma Wind; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elsa Janell Wind.
He was a devoted family man, the best father four daughters could ever have, and all-around handyman around the house and yard, and a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His broad smile and keen sense of humor will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
A celebration of Don’s file will be scheduled by the family at a later date.
