Peter J. Bednarek of North Wales, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the age of 89.
Pete is survived by his wife Eileen A. Bednarek and his children Eileen George (Michael), Jennifer Garvey (Kevin), Kathleen Murphy (Jim), Peter Bednarek (Rebecca), Maureen Eccles (Brian), Helene O’Mara (Tom), and Brian Bednarek (Abby). Pete was a loving and generous Pop-Pop to 12 grandchildren–Brittany, James, Leila, Peter, Thomas, Joseph, John, Mark, Matthew, Bridget, Patrick, and Peter.
Pete was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 13, 1931. Pete was the only child of Peter and Kathyrn Bednarek. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School and thereafter, received his Apprenticeship in Carpentry.
Pete worked as a carpenter and later became the business owner to P & H Lumber & Millwork where he specialized in architectural millwork.
Pete was a proud member of the United States Marines.
Pete enjoyed regular trips to his beach residence in Beach Haven, Long Beach Island, New Jersey. He liked to spend the day fishing on the boat with his children. Pete enjoyed his trips to Hawaii, especially to the Island of Maui.
Pete had a love of animals and for many years enjoyed pets at his home. He enjoyed watching Eagles football, for many years in person and later in life on television. Pete was very interested in current events and kept up through conversations with his family and watching the news daily.
Later in his life, Pete adored spending time with his grandchildren. Seeing them always put a smile on his face.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 424 S. Main Street, North Wales. Burial will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing also at St. Rose of Lima Church, on Thursday Evening, August 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Pete’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, American Red Cross, or ASPCA.

RIP Pete. You were a very good man. I truly enjoyed your company when Peter and Brian played basketball for us at St Rose.
