Danuta “Diane” Mazur—1/2/2022

Danuta “Diane” Mazur (Cholaj) of Harleysville, PA passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at age 88.

Diane was the beloved wife of the late Szymon Mazur and loving mother of Richard (Rose) and Mark (Denise). She was Babcia to Jeremy (Molly), Douglas, and Jillian. Diane was the daughter of Ludwik and Maria Cholaj and sister of the late George Cholaj.

Born in Poland on November 30, 1933, Diane immigrated to the United States in 1960. She settled in Philadelphia, where she met her husband, Szymon, and they lived the majority of their time together.

She was a talented seamstress, first sewing work and school uniforms, later working at a bridal shop.

She was a devout Catholic, and she also loved to cook, ensuring that no one left her home with an empty stomach.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Diane’s Viewing from 9:30 to 11:15 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446.  Family and Friends will then process to the original Old Barn Chapel at Our Lady of Czestochowa, 654 Ferry Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901 for Diane’s Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM.  Following Mass, she will be interred with her late husband in the Shrine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Diane’s memory to the American Cancer Society.

    I’m sorry to here about the loss of your Mom. She was a very special and compassionate individual. As a young teenager, I had the privilege to be in your Mom & Dad’s wedding party. They were both very loving people who are missed. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and may my prayers help comfort you.
