Bernard John Narolewski–1/18/2022

In Loving Memory

Bernard John Narolewski, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  He was 88 years old. Born February 20, 1933, in Hazleton, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Sophia (Kokoszka) Narolewski.  He was married to the love of his life, Marlene (Wysinski) for 64 years.

After his father passed away, Bernie, at the age of 6, started attending Girard College, Philadelphia where he graduated with his brother ‘Hummers’ with the Class of 1950 (June).

Bernie, who vowed to leave no beer for the rest of us, was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he was a photographer with the Photographic Division where he received ‘Letters of Commendation’ for his production of news reel footage.

Bernie, the self-bestowed ‘Polish Prince’, graduated from LaSalle College, in June 1962, with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and later worked in the finance industry for over 36 years before retiring as a Controller.

Bernie, a lifelong Eagles and Phillies supporter, married Marlene in 1957 where they lived in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia until moving to Lansdale in 1964.

He was active member of the St. Stanislaus Church and the senior clubs. A hunter who ‘never got a buck’, Bernie enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, migrating to Florida for the Winter, calling bingo games, preparing people’s taxes, helping his kids, babysitting his grandkids, watching his grandkids games, volunteering, and hiding a cache of his favorite chocolates.

In addition to his wife, Bernie is survived his children, Debra (Edward) Moran of Phoenixville, PA, Karen (Mark) Narolewski-Engel of Bucktown, PA, Judith (H. William) Harris of Worcester, PA, and Thomas (Virginia) Narolewski of Woolwich Township, NJ; and grandchildren, Kimberly Moran, Matthew Moran, Sarah (Chris) Grubaugh, Kyle Engel, Michael Moran, Emily (Brandon) Ammazzaorsi, Allyson Narolewski, Julia Narolewski, and Lauren Narolewski; as well as numerous nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank, Aloysius, Stella Vitro, and Genevieve Biesiadecki, and his (sometimes not) favorite dog, Buddy.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Bernie’s Life Celebration on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 9:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at the St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale PA.

Interment will follow at Saint John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, Lansdale PA.

  1. Back in the day Bernie did our taxes. He had a sharp mind – and i knew I better have all of the paperwork needed!!! I’m glad I had the opportunity to know him.

  2. I remember Mr. Narolewski and his family on Lexington Rd back in the late 60s and early 70s when I was a young boy living on Concord Place.

God bless him and the whole Narolewski family.

  3. Bernie was a member of our Senior club at St. Stan’s. I asked for a volunteer to call bingo at our meeting and Marlene came up to me to tell me that Bernie wasn’t there that day but she thought he would love to call bingo. The next meeting Bernie did the calling. He was such a sweetheart. Marlins and him were a great team. He will be missed by all. Rest well my friend!

  4. My deepest condolences to the entire Narolewski family. May he have passed away peacefully and without pain or sadness.

  5. My deepest condolences to your family during this most difficult time. May Mr. Narolewski now rest eternally with the angels. We’ll done faithful servant.
