Ann Sauter (nee Brinkheide) passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at her home, in North Wales at the age of 90. Ann was raised in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, with her parents and four siblings. She graduated from her beloved Little Flower High School and attended nursing school at St. Mary’s in Fishtown. Ann met her husband Dick Sauter at a high school dance and together they raised 5 children, worked closely on the family business and made memories for their family and friends at every opportunity. Their love was defined by an unwavering commitment to one another and fueled by laughter. Ann’s hospitality was matched only by her wit and humor. She had a gift for entertaining and loved making guests feel special, both young and old, in her home. Ann welcomed people for any occasion with the same effort, serving anything from spareribs to Coquille Saint Jacques. Her only goal was for people to be happy while breaking bread together.
Ann volunteered at her children’s schools, Ancillae-Assumpta Academy and Bishop McDevitt High School, as well as making a ten-year commitment to the Horsham Clinic where she volunteered, hoping to support young adults when facing a crisis. She became a Eucharistic Minister at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Parish in North Wales and was grateful for the opportunity to bring Communion to those who could not attend Mass. Her Catholic faith was her constant, supporting her through difficult times as a young girl, all the way until the night she died with a Rosary in her hand.
Ann was pre-deceased by her husband Dick Sauter, her daughter Patricia Sauter Speakman (Tom Speakman) and her grandson Mark Sauter. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Susan, her daughter Debbie Giordano and her husband Dave, her son Robert, and her daughter Tina Gregor and her husband Frank. Ann is also survived by her grandchildren Eric and Ann Sauter, Steven and his wife Moira, Philip and Christa Giordano, Richard Sauter and two great-grandchildren, Rose and Daniel Giordano. She was lucky enough to live with her grandchildren Emily, Frankie and Molly Gregor for more than 20 happy years.
A Funeral Mass will celebrate Ann’s life at Mary Mother of the Redeemer, 1325 Upper State Road North Wales, PA 19454 on Friday, March 4th at 11:30. The family will receive friends in the Church Narthex from 10:00-11:15, prior to Mass.
Memorial contributions in Ann Sauter’s name may be made to Ancillae Assumpta Academy, 2025 Church Road, Wyncote PA 19095, to support the Richard S. Sauter Scholarship Fund.

I’m sincerely sorry for your loss. Ann was a classy lady and will be missed by many. She had a way of making you feel comfortable. Whether it was at a PCI Christmas party or her home. Ann would always say “not my Michael” and we would laugh. I’ll keep all who loved her in my prayers. R.i.p. Ann❤️🙏
Thank you Donna, both Dick and Ann believed that they had a responsibility to the folks who worked at PCI. We were all one family.
