Paul L. Dwyer, Jr.—5/22/2022

Paul L. Dwyer Jr., of Harleysville, Pa., went to his eternal resting place in Heaven on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the age of 87. “Pop” was the ultimate family patriarch as a devoted husband of 62 years; a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend; and the life of every party with his quick wit, silly humor and creative original ditties.

Born Nov. 11, 1934, in Philadelphia, Paul graduated from St. Thomas More High School in 1952 and Villanova University in 1959. He proudly served his country in the armed forces during the Korean War. He spent his entire professional career at Unisys and retired as the Controller in 1991.

Paul was preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul and Margaret (Wilson) Dwyer, and sisters Margaret Szatkowski (Lou), Winifred McBrearty (Jack) and Catherine Kelly (Jack). He is survived by his wife, Anna (Lawn) Dwyer; five children, Maureen Whelan (Bill), Paul Dwyer (Kathy), Joe Dwyer (Jenn), Jim Dwyer (Maggie) and Lynn Gorham (John); and 18 grandchildren, Katelyn Whelan, Lindsay Whelan, Chelsea Whelan, Heather Whelan, Sean Whelan, Dennis Dwyer, Matthew Dwyer, Kayla Dwyer, Madison Dwyer, McKenzie Dwyer, Delaney Dwyer, Brendan Dwyer, Jimmy Dwyer, Megan Dwyer, Samantha Gorham, Bailey Gorham, Liam Gorham and Jack Gorham.

Paul was a driven self-starter who was very involved in his church and his children’s activities, including their religious education and Catholic Youth Organization sports, and never missed an opportunity to impart practical life skills. He was also an avid sports fan, with unwavering support for the Eagles and Villanova basketball.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Corpus Christi Church in Lansdale, Pa., with a viewing at 9:30am followed by mass at 11am. For those unable to attend in person, please join us virtually www.corpuschristilansdale.org/live
