William “Tad” Archambault, Jr.—5/14/2022

William Albert Tad Archambault, Jr., affectionately known as Tad, 76, of North Wales, PA, passed away peacefully  in his sleep on May 14, 2022.

Tad was born on March 26, 1946  to William Albert Tad Archambault, Sr. and Marie Claire Archambault (nee Morrisette)  in Holyoke, MA.  In 1964, Tad graduated as Valedictorian from Precious Blood High School in Holyoke, after which he received an Army ROTC scholarship to Boston College. He graduated with honors with his Bachelors in Science in 1968. He received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Maryland in 1971.

After graduation, Tad served for 8 years in the Army Reserves. He retired having achieved the rank of Captain, and was proud to have served his country. During this time, he taught statistics at The Ohio State University.  He then went on to work in research and development in the  pharmaceutical industry for over 45 years. Tad was passionate about helping companies get their effective products to market. He loved analyzing data to determine if a new drug would benefit society. He stood before the US FDA several times to help get products approved. Tad served as the Chair of the Drug Information Association conference meetings many times, and has several publications to his name. He owned his own consulting company, Virtu Stat Limited, for his final 27 years of service to the industry.

Tad met the love of his life, Sheila Ann Renaud, on Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. Sheila hid her watch so she could ask Tad for the time, and the rest was history. They were married on February 1, 1969. They were blessed with two children and many dear friendships they formed over the years. They enjoyed hosting parties, playing bridge, traveling, dancing, and watching football together.

Tad lived a very full life.  He traveled around the world, visiting  more than 20 countries. He loved to play golf, hang out with his good friends, and of course to drive his beloved Torch Red Corvette, Scarlett O.

Tad was predeceased by his mother and father, his uncle George Morrisette, and his brother Robert Archambault. He is survived by his wife Sheila, son Chris (Maria) Archambault, daughter Nicole (Sam) Skeene, and grandchildren Catherine and Corinne Archambault, Hannah, Sydney and Axel Skeene, and sister Suzanne Archambault. He will be deeply missed.

  1. Dear Sheila and Family – I have just learned of Tad’s passing and am shocked and saddened to be so late to leave a note. I appreciated working with him over many years and having some pretty exciting opportunities to learn from him and his use of such creative strategies. I also got to know him as a friend and heard much about the family and how much he loved being a husband and father and grandfather to you all. I will miss him.

  2. We were so fortunate, honored and blessed for the man we called “Dad”. He was in our lives for over 20+ years and in the last eight years he arrived every Sunday in season to golf with his buddy Jim. He will forever be in our hearts, and we hope he is resting in peace.
Our Love, Andie & Jim Fischer
