Henry A. Kulik, 97, passed into our Lord’s loving embrace on June 21, 2022.

The youngest of 6 siblings, was born at his family home on Hickory Street in Mt. Carmel, PA on January 18th, 1925, Son of Stephania Piantkoska Kulik and Jan Kulik.

Henry entered Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1942 only to have his education interrupted by World War 2 when he was drafted into the United States Army on June 24th 1943. Henry obtained the rank of Corporal in the 96th Infantry Division where he earned two Bronze Stars serving in the Pacific Theater until the end of the war and was Honorably Discharged from the service in February 1946. He then completed his education at Bloomsburg graduating with a Bachelors degree in Education in 1949 followed by a Masters Degree at Bucknell University.

Henry started teaching Math and Science at Lititz High School in 1949 then joining the North Wales High School in 1952. When that school was closed due to the formation of the North Penn School District in 1956 Henry was assigned to teach High School Math at what is now Penndale Middle School. He served as Assistant Principal at Pennbrook for 10 years, moved to Penndale for 10 years and finished his 37 year teaching career as Assistant Principal at Pennfield Middle School retiring in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his Wife of 64 years, Eleanor J. (Glowacki) Kulik.

A devout Catholic, Henry was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish for over 67 years. He was one of the first lay Lectors and member of the Knights of Columbus. He assisted at the St. Stan’s Fair and was the Caller at Bingo for many years.

He loved to travel having the good fortune to have visited all 50 States and was fluent in Polish.

Truly one of the Greatest Generation, Henry lived his life in service to Family, Neighbors, Church and Nation. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than visits from his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. By now there are no more leaves on Heaven’s Lawn and he’ll have the rain gutters cleaned by tomorrow! We’ll all miss Dad, Dziadz, very much but his was a life to be celebrated.

  1. Rest in peace Mr.Kulik. You always had a smile & a wave to us while you raked every leaf possible from your lawn. We lived behind you in next block and you always loved to talk to my kids as they passed your house in wagons & bikes & tricycles. You will be missed. Prayers & condolences for your family.

  2. Thank you Uncle Henry for your service, great memories and helping me learn what it means to be a good man. Many Sundays after church we got to hang with the Kulick clan. You have now slipped into the mist, ending your watch in the long gray line. Amen

  3. Uncle Henry was one of the best Uncles anyone can have and was the husband of my heavenly God Mother Aunt Eleanor. Uncle Henry was just as they said in the obituary, and everyone that knew him could not disagree. Rest in Peace Uncle Henry, you are now with the love you had chosen to be yours for so long.
