Jane E. Bader of Lansdale PA passed into the Lord’s embrace on July 1, 2022, at the age of 100.
Born July 21, 1921, in Scranton PA to parents Helen and Thomas Ruane, Jane graduated from Marywood College in 1942.
She proudly served as a commissioned officer in the Navy during World War 2. It was during an assignment at the Philadelphia Naval Yard in the communications department that she met a Lieutenant Albert Bader with whom she would fall in love and marry in 1946.
Jane was always curious about the world around her. Her lifelong interests included sewing and quilting, opera, gardening, astronomy and writing. Jane loved new ideas and technologies. She embraced all the opportunities to access information, news and music on the internet. As an enthusiastic reader, she marveled at the ability to download books at will. And she was amazed at the logistics involved in receiving a next day delivery from Amazon.
Jane was a woman of worthwhile character and lively spirit. She could be counted on as a good friend and helpful individual. She served her family, community, and nation. Over the course of her lifetime, she was an active volunteer and participant at many organizations. Most recently she sewed masks nonstop to distribute to family, friends and organizations to help keep us safe. Her grace and strength over a long life were exceptional.
Jane is survived by her children; Mark Bader and his wife Linda, Maria Bader and Anne Louise Ramirez and her husband Manny, her grandchildren Amy, Laura, Catherine, Theresa, Matthew and Peter and 3 great grandchildren. Jane’s loving husband Albert and son Thomas preceded her to heaven. She will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jane’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM, prior to Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
The Bader family strongly encourages attendees to wear masks and observe social distancing to maintain the health and safety of all Jane’s relatives and friends.
