Carmela Marie DeCicco (Scali), known to those closest to her as “ Shoobie”, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the age of 86. Most recently she resided in Lansdale, PA but was a long-time resident of Pompano Beach, FL and raised her family in Doylestown, PA.
Carmela was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia on September 16, 1936, to Bruno and Mary Scali. She had wonderful memories of growing up on Ross Street and being active in theater and the musical arts. Carmela moved to Willow Grove, PA, graduated from Abington High School and then took on a position in the offices of the Reading Railroad. Primarily a homemaker when her children were young, she eventually established Warrington Flowers as owner and designer, and a bridal salon in Dresher, PA called The Bridal Bouquet. Carmela was an avid reader, theatergoer, and shopper. She loved to cook and was always on the hunt for a new recipe.
On September 22, 1956 Carmela married Joseph DeCicco and they had two children, Gina Marie (1960) and Frank John ( 1963-2016). She is survived by her husband, Joe, daughter Gina and four wonderful grandchildren, Brittany Clark (Joe), Darby Malvey ( Brian), Mark Ventresca ( Natalie), and Cara Jaquez ( Jon). She had the privilege of knowing and loving her great-grandchildren Charlie, Owen, Casper, Imogen, Oliver and Gabriela. Carmela survived her dear brother, Richard Scali and was loved and supported by her nephews Richard, Michael and David.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Saint Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church , 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446. Joe, Gina, Richard and all the family. I have tried calling several times and the number keeps getting declined. I finally got the courage to go online and search. I knew that Carmen had health issues but I was hoping that it would not be this. I will always remember the good times that Carm, Gina, Deloris and I had at Warrington Flowers. My contact information is 904 453 1700. 7595 Baymeadows Circle West. 32256.

To my sweet, beautiful Carmela !!!
You were a second mother to me.
We spoke almost everyday and you were a true friend.
You were always pleasant and comforting even though you were not always feeling well.
I admire you and hope to age as gracefully and dignifiedly as you did.
You will always be in my heart.
Sweet dreams until we chat again.
LOVE, Jola, Frank & Ava ❤️❤️❤️
