John (Giovanni) Veneziale—11/8/2022

John (Giovanni) Veneziale, 69, of Hatfield, PA went to be with his heavenly Father on November 8, 2022, after a long battle with Castleman’s Disease, a rare autoimmune disorder.

John was born in Longano, Isernia, Italy on February 1, 1953, to Antonio and Caterina Veneziale. He emigrated to this country in 1966 and attended the North Penn School District until his graduation from both North Penn High School and North Montco Technical School in 1973.  After graduation, he continued his education to become a master tool and die maker and worked for a local machine shop.

In 1978, he began his long 33-year career with Philco Ford Electronics and Visteon Corporation in Lansdale, PA.  He was a highly skilled tool-maker and very much enjoyed the camaraderie of his co-workers.

In 1976 John married his wife, Josephine, in Toronto, Canada. They spent the next 46 loving years together residing both in the Borough of Lansdale and Hatfield Township. John was a humble yet devoted family man and was very proud of both his children and grandchildren. He loved passing on the traditions of his Italian heritage whether it be making his homemade wine, sausage, or tomato sauce. John also enjoyed gardening, grilling, being outdoors, relaxing on his back patio, and listening to both Italian Folk and American Rock and Roll music as evidenced by the many records and CD’s he collected. He always looked forward to celebrations where you could find him on the dance floor dancing away to the many Italian songs he loved. He was never one to miss a family get together and was happiest sitting around the table eating a home-cooked meal while reminiscing with family and friends.

John’s favorite hobby was fishing with his brothers, son, nephews and especially his two grandsons–Giovanni and Matteo. Prior to his illness, John enjoyed spending as much time as possible on local trout streams and bass ponds in the spring and summer. He absolutely loved being a part of the annual Father’s Day bass fishing trip in the Pocono Mountains, a tradition that will definitely not be the same without him.

John was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Veneziale. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine (Donia) Veneziale. Devoted father to Anthony Veneziale (wife Cristina), and Kathie Veneziale. Loving Nonno to Giovanni and Matteo. Son of Caterina Veneziale. Brother of Isabel (Rick) Todorow, Patricia Veneziale, Carmine Veneziale, and Niccolino (Natalie) Veneziale. Uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN)  www.CDCN.org/donate. Funds are dedicated to accelerating research and treatment for Castleman Disease.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday evening, November 13th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Simcox-Mcilvaine Funeral Home, 532 East Main Street, Lansdale, PA 19446. A viewing will also be held at Saint Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 9:00-10:30 AM. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
