Lawrence Stanley Stempel—12/9/2022

Lawrence Stanley Stempel was born on May 1, 1938 in Doylestown, PA and was the loving husband of Nancy Louise Glueck for over 60 years.  He was the son of the late George Stanley Stempel and Naomi Wright, and was the older brother of Jeff Stempel (wife Sue and daughter Marley). He passed peacefully with family by his side on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the age of 84.

After high school, he entered the United States Navy as a radar technician and served our country proudly for four years. Larry and Nancy were married October 13, 1962. His greatest joy was being a dad to five children and eight grandchildren: Tracey Mousley of Harleysville, PA (husband Kirk and daughter Kirsten), Susan Chalela of Charleston, SC (husband Julio and son Nicolas), Lawrence Stempel of Green Lane, PA (wife Renee and daughters Brooke and Ashley), Debra Dynan of State College, PA (husband Stephen, daughter Sydney and son Jacob), and Sandra Mehlmann of Hilltown, PA (husband Thomas, daughter Danielle, and son Connor).  He and Nancy raised his children in Hatfield, PA where they had made many wonderful memories.

After leaving the Navy, Larry was employed by Philadelphia Electric Co. (Exelon) where he worked for 32 years as a lineman. He liked to spend time with his friends and enjoyed many activities including fishing and tennis. He enjoyed spending time with his children, and being involved in their various sports. After retirement he and Nancy spent time traveling the country as well as Europe. They enjoyed spending their winters in Florida, golfing and biking. When home, they biked with the Central Bucks Bike Club. In his later years he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to attend as many of their sporting games and activities as possible. He was a wonderful family-man and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He could be recalled as everyone’s biggest fan. Larry was a hard working man of strong character and exceptional sense of humor.  He always honored his friendships and helped anyone he could.

Private funeral services will be held on December, 26, 2022.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, act.alz.org (Tribute Page: Lawrence Stanley Stempel).
