Anna Marie Feingold, age 101, of Hatfield, Pa., died January 15, 2023. She would have celebrated her 102nd birthday on, Saturday, January 21.
Anna was one of the oldest residents of Hatfield, Pa. She grew up in the Conshohocken area, the only daughter in a family of 9 sons. She lived in Miami, Florida, for three years in the 1940s after which she moved to Roxborough through to the mid 1950s. She then settled in Hatfield in 1957. Anna and her late husband, Jake, who passed in 1982, chose Hatfield for its proximity to Willow Grove Naval Air Base, where Jake had worked as a mechanic. Together they raised their son, Bernard, in the Township and made many lifelong friends.
Anna didn’t waste any time becoming involved in her new community. She was part of a group of people who helped found St. Maria Goretti Parish and Church. Prior to the construction of the present church, Anna could recall parishioners meeting in a local pub or the fire station. They were very happy to have a church in the community as it meant they didn’t have to go to another town for services. Anna also was involved in local politics, serving as a poll worker for many years. Anna felt that Hatfield was a very friendly little town, and she had friends over often for meals and cards. In addition to playing cards, Anna liked to bowl and played in leagues. She also liked to golf, and she enjoyed walking to stay in shape. A walk to Rosenberger’s for coffee with friends often started her day.
Anna credits her longevity to eating right, exercising, being friendly and never arguing.
In addition to her husband, Anna was sadly preceded in death by her son Bernard, in 2016.
She is survived by her niece, Mimi Hause, and nephews, Michael and Kevin Weber, who were her loving caretakers for many years. Also surviving are many other beloved nieces and nephews around the country.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Anna’s Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Rd, Hatfield, PA 19440, where her family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM, prior to Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Maria Goretti Church in Hatfield.
Anna or AA, for aunt Anna and a better than the energizer bunny has come! When I first met AA she was the ripe young age of 92 and did 25 push ups on our clean kitchen floor, it was amazing! Anna was an amazing and special lady she spread joy, laughter and song with her companion and caretaker nephew Michael Weber for the last 8 years to family and friends and I was one of the lucky few to receive such a gift from them both! AA will be greatly missed! She was blessed with a long and fulfilled life!
Sunny
Mimi you loved Anna well. May God comfort you and your brothers in this loss. Love you. Becky and gene
