Thomas Charles O’Toole Jr., passed away November 6, 2021 after a three-year battle with head and neck cancer. He was with loved ones at the end.

Born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1968, Tom was the eldest of two children. However, he had countless friends that he considered family while growing up in Lansdale and attending North Penn High School (Class of 86’). Tom’s childhood dog, Buddy, fostered a lifelong love for animals; especially dogs.

Tom continued the family tradition and, like his father and grandfather before him, joined the United States Army. In the military, Tom worked as a Medical Specialist. He served during the Gulf war and received the National Defense Service Medal, as well as the Southwest Asia Service Medal.

This experience in the Army led him to pursue a career as an Registered Nurse (RN). He completed his LPN training in the Army and his RN training at the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!!). Tom’s nursing career spanned over 25 years. He was always looking for a new challenge. This led him to work in many different specialties; ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Tom had a love of travel, music, and Philadelphia sports teams. Tom was also very proud of his Irish heritage. His favorite place to travel was Europe, but especially Ireland due to its beauty, its people, and the family members still residing there.Tom was a very social individual and loved his friends dearly. He enjoyed being the life of the party, whether he was playing poker, darts, or watching any of his beloved sports teams.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas J. O’Toole IV, mother Beverly (Ayling) O’Toole, and son Christopher O’Toole. He leaves behind his two daughters, Stephanie O’Toole and Alyssa Hakunti, one grandchild, his brother Lawrence (Larry) O’Toole, and girlfriend Michelle Lee Ann Rose.

Due to the number of people who loved Tom, there will be two services held at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home Inc (532 East Main Street, Lansdale PA) to give everyone a chance to say goodbye. The first service will be held on Friday, November 12th, 2021 at 6 – 8 PM. The second service will be held on Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at 11 AM – 1 PM. A live stream of the two services will be available for friends and family unable to attend.
