ROSE MARIE F BURNS

January 13, 1928-March 14, 2023

Rose Marie F Burns, 95, a resident of Harleysville, PA, passed away Tuesday morning, March 14, 2023.

Born January 13, 1928, she was the daughter of Francis and Ellen McManimen. She graduated from Mount Carmel Township High School in Locust Gap, PA.  

She was a longtime resident of Lansdale, Pa where she lived with her loving husband J Robert Burns. Together they raised their children in Lansdale and were involved in many community activities and events, including Lansdale’s Centennial celebration in 1972. She was also a member of St Stanislaus parish. She had many close friends and neighbors, from her many years, in the Lansdale community.

She worked for Bell Telephone company in Philadelphia for 8 years after graduating high school. She also worked in the North Penn school district cafeterias for many years. She was a telephone operator for Merck for many years.  She worked as a receptionist at Safeguard Company, till her retirement.  

Rose Marie was a resident of Peter Becker Community in Harleysville, PA for the past 11 years. She was an avid reader and regularly read 3 or 4 books per week. She was very proficient at and enjoyed doing cross word puzzles. She enjoyed her visits with her family & her many loyal friends. She especially enjoyed the visits from her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.  She was a constant source of unconditional love and support for all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed immeasurably by all of them.

She is survived by her children Kathleen Burns Alderfer and her husband Murrey of Harleysville, PA, Patricia Burns Washam and her husband David of Souderton PA, Edward Charles Burns and his wife Mary of North Wales, PA and Rose Marie Burns Yost of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J Robert Burns and her daughter Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Giampa.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 9:30am at St Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA.  Followed by a mass at 10:30am. Burial will be at St John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA  18914.

  1. To Chuck, Mary and the Burns family…I will always remember the countless times your mom welcomed me into your home and treated me like another son of hers. I think she knew she could count on me to keep Chuck in line! All the best to you all. She had a great long life!

    Your Mom and Dad were very special to us. Fond memories of all the Seckinger/Burns/Hagy/Portland picnics and there were many!

    Your Mom was the last “Club” member🥰. Such a wonderful lady!
