Joanne M. Reube—3/28/2023

Joanne M. Reube, age 60, of Souderton, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at her home after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born in Broomall, PA she was the daughter of Gerald and Virginia (nee. Fadigan) Longworth, her three loving children; daughters Kristin Yothers (David) and Kimberly Swartz (Andrew), son, William Reube, Jr, grandchildren, Dawson, Lailah, Theodore, Gemma, Haddie and Hunter, sister, Denise Herninko (Sean), brother, Gerald Longworth (Perri), neices Kayla and Lindsey as well as her boyfriend Bob Louv. Joanne attended North Penn High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Gwyneed Mercy College. She later attended the Lansdale School of Buisness. Joanne worked as a bookkeeper with the North Penn Water Authority, but her true love was her family.

They shared the following thoughts.

Oldest daughter Kristin:
She gave her family the philosophy from Mary Kay: God first, family second, work third.  She also gave us a love for pets. Her pets through the years included Max, Robin, Elmo, Bernie, Rusty and Toby. We loved her cuddles and her meatloaf. We loved hanging out with her and going to the pool. She loved country music. She went to a 92.5xtu summer concert.

Middle daughter Kim:
You were always in my corner cheering me on, giving me guidance. You were the one I always turned to for everything. You were my voice behind reason when I needed it the most. When I FaceTimed you and told you I got a pig the look on your face was priceless. You knew right then and there what my life was going to turn out to be. You always knew to expect a photo randomly of a new animal we were adding to the farm. You always told me to dream big. You always stood by me, even when miles and miles apart. You helped mold me into the strong willed person I am. Because of you I am who I am.  I wish you were here to see our life unfold on this new journey we have begun. I wish you could see what you helped me set our minds to and achieve.  You have always been there every step of the way, even if it was a 4am phone call . You have definitely left a piece of you in each one of the kids, Lailah, Gemma, Haddie and Hunter.

Youngest son Billy:
My mom was a strong willed and detail oriented person. She pursued things without hesitation and will detailed plans. She tried to always take a glass half approach in her life and that there was always a way out of hard times. She was never afraid of hard work and was willing to grit her teeth. She did what she believed in and she did it with confidence. While her story with cancer has concluded, she taught our family valuable lessons about perseverance with her final opportunity to dig in. I love you mom.

Mom and Dad:
She was our first and greatly anticipated child so she was very special to us. We will always remember being so proud to show off our new baby girl but even as a newborn she had an absolute love for sleeping. Friends and neighbors joked that we didn’t really have a new baby because she was always so quietly sleeping in the nursery. As she grew up we enjoyed watching her tenacity with things such as caring for and riding her horses. We will miss and love her always.

Denise sister:
My sister was always there for every big event with me and my family, even if it was something she wasn’t sure she wanted to be a part of, lol! Kayla, Lindsey and I talked her into tree climbing and zip lining in the Poconos. She was so nervous she didn’t sleep the night before. As we got harnessed up and ready to go, I could see her heart was in her throat. She never backed out though! And we had an amazing time! Her smile and laughter from that day will be ingrained in my heart forever!

From the whole family:
You were always so full of life! You are amazing! A fighter! Watch over us as we need it the most right now. You left us with amazing memories. You will forever be in our hearts, and minds. We will try our hardest to navigate this world without you. You fought a hard fight and now you don’t need to fight anymore. We love you forever and always!

Relatives and Friends are invited to greet Joanne’s family on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale PA, 19446. There will be a Service following at 11:00 AM. Interment St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.

  1. Joanne taught me to find the positive in even the hardest of times. She was definitely a fighter and a very strong woman. I will forever miss my friend! She will never to be forgotten.
