Thomas William Ousey—5/19/2023

Thomas William Ousey, 65, of Telford, PA, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2023.  He was surrounded by friends and family.

Tom was born on August 25th, 1957, to Dorothy and John Ousey in Roslyn. Tom graduated high school from Bishop McDevitt in Glenside, where he excelled at both football and baseball.  After graduating from Ursinus College with a degree in Economics, Tom had a long career in sales at Penn Valley Chemical from which he recently retired.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman.  A lifelong fisherman, he enjoyed the sport with his wife, sons, and friends. Anyone who knew Tom knows his boat was rarely idle for long, and there is not a cove in Green Lane Reservoir that he did not know like the back of his hand. He also greatly enjoyed golf, which he did at every opportunity surrounded by good friends.

Tom was predeceased by his wife of 31 years Margaret.  He is survived by his sons, T.J. and Chris (Tina), by his brothers Jack and Bob, and by his sister Peggy.  He also leaves behind many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where his family will receive friends from 9: to 10:45 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.  Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Keystone Opportunity Group, a nonprofit organization for housing the homeless and feeding the hungry, both causes that Tom was passionate about.

  1. I met Tom some years ago, and he remained a vendor as well as a good friend I am so said to hear of his passing RIP MY FRIEND WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN IN HEAVEN.

  2. I must continue in this life with less laughter and friendship and plain Old fun. The essence of life, is enjoyment. He filled us all with that. Jim Cassidy…aka hop.

  3. Glad I got to meet you, Tom, thanks to Maggie! I’ll never forget the wedding or the Moody Blues concert where you and I got in trouble with Maggie and Keith. Missed your laugh ever since Maggie left, but as Chris said to me, you guys are probably on a long overdue fishing trip – I’m sure at a better place than Green Lane. So blessed to have had you and Maggie in my life and can’t wait to see you guys again. Well, I mean I’m not rushing it, but you know what I mean. 🙂

  4. “Good Looking?” really Dad? 😉 Jus kiddin, as Tom would kid. As another Ousey Bros Poker regular we all had our quirks that we would repeat each night through the many enjoyable years of keeping in contact with each other monthly. Tom would look at his card and day… “Talk to me Goose” but also would croon at some point a favorite music phrase… “Knock, knock, knocking on heavens door!” I’m sure Maggie is there waiting to let him in. God Bless Tom God knows your heart was broken and have missed Maggie. May you both now rest in full peace. – Love Nephew – Jack

  5. Everyone in our family knows that I have always admired and emulated Tom in so many ways. If he wasn’t my uncle, and I met him, I know we would be great friends. We were not allowed to sit next to each other at Ousey Bros poker, because we’d stop the game storytelling and laughing too much. To this day, I still put my hand on my chest when laughing and I definitely picked it up from him. Poker, fishing, drinking beers at a campfire will always remind me of him. That’s pretty cool in my book. Love you Tommy!

  6. I met Tom later in my life, loved his laughter, his big smile and the ease in which he carried himself. We got to golf together one time, with my daughter, so fun. He and Maggie laughed thru life and I admired them for that. My condolences to all his family, he leaves a void for sure.

  7. I met Tom 20 years ago when I started my cleaning business, I have since retired the business and remained good friends with Tom. He was a generous kind person, you could not but like Tom! I enjoyed His sidesplitting, uproarious, unconventional sense of humor. I was taken aback to hear of his death, I will miss my friend. May God rest your soul and bring comfort to your family in this time of grief.

  8. I cannot recall Uncle Tom without his bubbly, infectious and often “ready for trouble” smile – eager to infect everyone else with that happiness. My love to Chris, TJ, Tina and all family and friends who have shared Tom’s love and joy in this world. Gone too soon!

  9. I graduated from LC with Maggie Gebbie Ousey. Only about 7 years ago I met Tom with Maggie at another friend’s home. Tom was a hoot – great sense of humor and what a laugh he had! Since then he has joined our LC class reunion picnics and events with Maggie. I haven’t seen Tom since Maggie passed away. I was shocked and sad to hear the news today and sad that I will not see him again. I will imagine them happy together again in Heaven. God bless you, Tom.

  10. Tom was a good looking guy with a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed at our monthly family poker night. Big brother Jack.
