Carmela (nee. Cancelliere) Benjamin, age 89, of Schwenksville died Friday, June 23, 2023, at Einstein Montgomery Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Cristina (nee. Ottaviano) Cancelliere.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s Church in Schwenksville and also a Spiritual Child of St. Padre Pio. Carmela enjoyed the outdoors and gardening as well as writing and was working on a science fiction book over the last several years.
She was employed as a Librarian at Gwynedd Mercy University.
Surviving are her loving son Bruce Benjamin and one niece and three nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Carolina Romano and her husband Antonio
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 5, at 10:30 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where her family will receive friends in Church prior to Mass, beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment in Green Lawn Cemetery, North Wales.
It was a pleasure to get to know Carmela. She was a very knowledgeable and beautiful person. She certainly left her mark on the people who had the pleasure of meeting her and getting to know her. She is a dear friend and will be remembered fondly. Many happy memories to draw on and remember. Carmela will always remain in our hearts until we meet again in heaven. Carmela was a very faith women and now she can claim her reward and place in heaven. She is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and his son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mush love as we wish our friend Carmela goodbye from this earthly world.
