Judith Gail Lucente—3/4/1940 –8/1/2023

Judith Gail Lucente peacefully passed away at her home in Lansdale, PA on Monday August 1, 2023. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Rudolph Lucente.

Judith was an only child born in Abington Pennsylvania on March 4, 1940. She was of Pennsylvania Dutch descent and the daughter of Henry and Naomi Oberholtzer. After graduation from Haddonfield High School, she was a print model and worked at Bell Telephone. Judith shined most in her roles as Wife, Mother, Mom Mom, and Great Mom. She embraced each day of her 83 years with trademark energy and class, working tirelessly to maintain a loving home. She supported her husband in the growth of their US Naval contracting firm AMPAC and took immense pride in keeping abreast of the company’s operations alongside both her husband and stepson Rudy Lucente Jr.

Judith was a keen observer of life, often remembering the specific details and actions of those around her. This skill made for unique relationships with family members and friends. She was often found baking her trademark “Redsie” Cake or Ricotta cookies – always at the ready with a sweet treat. She loved a good “Words with Friends” game, following the British royal family, and “playing in the dirt” (gardening). She was an active Brittany Pointe community member where she enjoyed Bocce, exercise classes, and walking the property. While Judith enjoyed health for most of her life, she admirably and gracefully navigated recent hardships. She was a pillar of strength and determination, refusing to let disease define her existence. She carried on and lived her life with purpose and without complaint.

She was happiest at her home in Wildwood Crest, NJ where she watched butterflies around the flower beds of the front porch and made memories with her beloved family. She will be remembered by her sister-in-law Geraldine Franchi and her five children: Rudy Lucente (Clare), Gloria Cascarino (Pat), Jennifer Raquet (Mark), Diana Vit (Paul), and Sondra Goettelmann (Gunnar). Her pride and joys as Mom Mom included 11 grandchildren: Matthew Cascarino (Jillian), Mark Lucente (Shannon), Lisa Coia (Christopher), Nicole Cascarino, Dr. Erin Downey (Steve), Brandon and Lauren Raquet, Jillian and Julia Vit, and Cooper and Myles Goettelmann. Judith was also Great Mom to eight great-grandchildren: Sydney Lucente, Madeline Coia, Avery, Jordon, and Logan Cascarino, Wylie Cascarino, and Sienna and Julia Montesano.

Please join the Lucente family on August 8, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (1802 W. Skippack Pike, Blue Bell PA 19422). The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the service at 11a.m. A life celebration luncheon will follow the service.

  1. Dear Sondra and family
I’m so very sorry that your mom passed. I wasn’t aware until the house sold as my mom was on hospice and also died August 10.
I so enjoyed my conversations with Judith about yoga and my kids and being my mom’s caregiver. She was such an inspiration and a woman I so admired. I will miss seeing her walk by and at the beach. 🙏

  2. Judith was an inspiration. In spite of her illness she lit up every room she entered. Knowing her was a privilege.

  3. Judith! I will always remember your words of wisdom concerning life and relationships!!! You were a wise woman! I hope you are now dancing in Heaven! Love, Mary

  4. My Condolences to Judiths whole family. Although I did not get to say goodbye to Mr. Lucente, Sr. after leaving Maryland to RI working for such a devoted man to the Navy, and Judith such a devoted partner in everything he did. She was such a lovely lady always saying kind words to me and my family. May she rest in Peace and many joyful memories for her family and friends.
