Richard O. Nentwig Sr of Towamencin Township died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Dock Terrace.
He was born July 20,1935, in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Hatfield Township for 55 years moving from Philadelphia. He then resided at the Living Branches nursing home at Dock Terrace.
Mr. Nentwig graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He was a member of the United States Army Reserve from 1955 until 1968.
He worked as a mechanical draftsman.
Mr. Nentwig enjoyed baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, reading, particularly western novels, woodworking, camping, scouting, including as a scoutmaster of Troop 414 at St Stanislaus and visiting national parks.
He also worked for many years as a volunteer at Lansdale Catholic during football and basketball games.
He is survived by his sons, Richard Nentwig Jr of Sebastian, FL., Stephen Nentwig (Deborah) of Salford, PA, David Nentwig (Barbara) of Blooming Glen, PA, Michael Nentwig (Lisa) of Kingman, AZ and Kevin Nentwig (Sundae) of Hatfield, PA, sister Alberta and brother Charles. Richard has four grandchildren Kyle, Zakkary, Trevor and Cameron. He also has many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Nentwig was predeceased by his father, Joseph Nentwig, mother, Leona (Graf) Nentwig. His wife Mary Ann (Smith) Nentwig. Sisters, Ada and Leona and brothers, Joseph and Robert.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend Richard’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446, where his family will receive friends from 9:30 to10:15 AM, in Church, prior to Mass. Interment will be private.
