Rosalie Irene McKinney, 90, of Lansdale, PA passed away on January 19, 2024, surrounded by her family at her son’s home in Aldie, Virginia.
Rosalie was born on November 7, 1933, to Susan and Edward Hersperger, in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Rosalie is predeceased by her mother, Susan Hersperger (d. 2004), her father Edward Hersperger (d. 1958), her husband, Robert F. McKinney (d. 2004), and her first husband Lloyd Brooks (d. 1956). She is survived by her sister, Nan Rohan, her daughter Susan Shaughnessy and husband Mike Shaughnessy, and son Robert M. McKinney and wife Aimee McKinney.
Rosalie is also survived by her grandchildren Kelly Hughes and husband Jeff Hughes, James Shaughnessy and wife Lindsay, Michael Shaughnessy and wife, Jaclyn, Chris Shaughnessy, Jordan McKinney, and Paige McKinney. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jeffrey and Ashley Hughes, Archer Shaughnessy, and Olivia and Michael Shaughnessy III.
She is also survived by her stepdaughter Pam Bailey and her husband Collins Bailey, and grandchildren Josh and wife Elizabeth, Caleb, John and wife Christine, Mary and husband Jimmy, and great-grandchildren Hunter, Theo and Elijah.
Rosalie married Lloyd “Bud” Brooks in 1954. She faced the loss of her first husband, Bud in 1956. She married Robert “Bob” McKinney in 1965, embarking on a 39-year journey that was a testament to enduring love and devotion until Bob’s passing in 2004.
Rosalie spent many years working for Anson Tool & Gauges and GE in Erie, PA and Burndy, Bridgeport Controls and Accupac in Montgomery County PA before retiring in 2001.
Rosalie was active in the Garden Club, the PEAK Senior Center, and loved racquetball, golf, and bowling. She loved spending time in their cottage in the Pocono Mountains and also loved watching car rally racing and boating on the Chesapeake with her husband.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rosalie’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. 19446, where her family will receive friends beginning at 9 AM, in Church, prior to Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the PEAK Senior Center in Lansdale, PA.
