James Anthony DePaul of Lansdale, PA, peacefully came home to the Lord on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 at the age of 61.
James, more affectionately known as “Jimmy,” was the beloved husband of 39 years to Janet (Lynch) DePaul.
Jimmy worked successfully for many years of his life. Jimmy was proud to be the first in his family to earn a four-year college degree. Starting as an electrician, Jimmy established a successful security company in Cape Coral, FL, in moving back to PA, Jimmy went on to earn his Master’s degree and own and operate an electrical licensing business. When he wasn’t working, Jimmy loved watching the Steelers play, volunteering for Towamencin Township, coaching youth football, and having all his children and grandsons over for weekly dinners.
Jimmy’s pride and joy were his children and grandsons. He was a constant in the lives of his loved ones; never wavering in his commitment to the well-being of those he loved. He never missed a football practice or game, proofread every essay he was sent, and called every week to check in if anything needed fixing, and if there was something, he was there with his tools within a day. Jimmy will be remembered for all these things but most notably, his colorful and often outlandish sense of humor that commanded the room. He will be dearly missed by his family but they rest in the comfort that they will see him again in Heaven.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Jerome and Maryanna (Zulli) DePaul and brother of the late Daniel DePaul and Jerome DePaul.
In addition to his beloved wife Janet, Jimmy is survived by his loving children, Nicholas, Courtney, Joey and his wife Savannah, and Giana. He is also survived by his three adoring grandchildren: Brayden, Kameron, and Benjamin, his sisters Lynn (Rob), Donna, Sue (in-law) and his brother Michael (Maureen), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy’s Funeral Mass on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family receive friends in Church and prior to Mass, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in James’s name and memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Mail to: ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
Though it’s been years I’ll keep on mussing you. Our birthday will never be the same. Rest in peace, forever.
Barbara
My sincerest condolences to the DePaul family on the passing of your husband/father/grandfather. Please be assured of my prayers for the repose of Jimmy’s soul and for comfort, peace and strength, as only God can give, for all of you during this difficult time. May our Mother, Mary, wrap all of you in her mantle to help comfort you and may Jimmy rest in eternal peace. xo
When you think of Jimmy, you immediately think STEELERS.
Football was Jimmy’s passion. From Pro to Pop Warner. In Florida he coached Pop Warner for years. Helping kids understand the game and improve their skills. Jimmy would go out of his way personally and financially to make sure every child could play and had the proper equipment. He did this quietly, never wanting praise. It was all from his heart.
We had some great times with Jimmy. Going to Tampa games and enjoying all the weekends with the kids. Wonderful memories, we will always cherish.
Jimmy’s greatest love was his family. He always stood by them and provided whatever they needed. His family was his world.
He was taken from us to soon. We were blessed to have him for the time we did. Rest in peace Jimmy.
We send out sympathy and love to the family. God will always be with you through this time of healing.
Love Pam and Bruce
Janet and family…
Sincere condolences; please take solace in the thought that Jimmy is in the arms of our Lord.
I could never thank him and Tony enough, for moving me to my home. I still laugh when I think of the guys throwing pieces of furniture over the railing to the parking lot, and strapping the things on the roof of the van, like the Beverly Hillbillies.
Sleep well, friend…I’ll seeya’ on the other side. God bless and keep your family.
💜Nat
